March 19 Filing Deadline for GPNC Elections


The Candidate Filing Period has been extended to March 19 to encourage broader participation and allow more people to participate in the election process. But don’t wait til the last minutes to file your candidacy! Get the details and file to run: The Glassell Park Neighborhood Council will hold elections on Saturday, April 26, 2014, 10am-4pm for all 15 seats, each with a two year team.  Stakeholders who are 18+ may run for a seat. Stakeholders are defined as those who live, work, or own property in the neighborhood and also  those who declare a stake in the neighborhood and affirm the factual basis for it. Interested candidates may want to review our bylaws, as well as come to meetings. The candidate filing period is from February 10 through March 19. Glassell Park Early Child Care Center Opens to Community

The Glassell Park  Early Education Center (EEC) is a beautiful, constructed EEC located in the Glassell Park Area the street from Glassell Park  Elementary. The new Glassell Park Early Education Center includes a single-story building housing seven classrooms, multiple restrooms, an administration office with  a nursing  station,  playground/courtyard  in the center, and  a  27-stall  parking.  “For more info. At a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday, school board member, Bennet Kayser called it a “vital resource” for the community. Until now, the district offered no pre-kindergarten classes in Glassell Park, which school principal Carol Hamper said the community desperately needed.
