Sep 29 @ 7:00 pm – 9:45 pm

The Planning & Land Use Committee (PLUC) oversees land use and development in Glassell Park. The committee meets monthly with business owners, land developers and homeowners to review plans and share ideas on projects in Glassell Park.

PLUC meetings are where applicants for new building/development/modifications come to share information about their proposed projects with the community.  Here’s the letter we send to each applicant.

As a Glassell Park Stakeholder, you are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and provide input.  If you are unable to attend, you may send an email to pluc@glassellparknc.org to provide comments on specific projects, general issues, or make a committee agenda request. GPNC Board Meeting @ Glassell Park Community & Senior Center
Oct 18 @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

This is the regular meeting of the GPNC Board that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

If you’d like to see something on the agenda, send an email to the board (board@glassellparknc.org) with “agenda request” in the subject of the email to ask to have something included. The deadline to submit something for inclusion on that month’s agenda is on the first Tuesday of the month (two weeks before the Board Meeting). Anything not submitted by the first Tuesday will have to be added to the agenda for the following month’s meeting. Why put something on the agenda, as opposed to just joining us at the meeting to share? Because the board can only take action on something (vote on it) if it was included in that meeting’s agenda. If you show up to a meeting with an idea that’s not on the agenda but requires board action, it will have to be placed on a subsequent agenda.

If you come to a meeting and want to share something not on the agenda, there is a time for “public comments” when we ask the community to share their thoughts. No matter what, if you attend a meeting, please sign in when you arrive and fill out a “speaker card” so we have record of your comments later when drafting minutes and notes about the meeting.

If you can’t make the meeting, you can check back on the website at a later date to see the minutes and often there’s even a video of the meeting. Visit the “Agendas” page to see the upcoming meeting’s agenda (when it’s ready) along with supporting documents (if there are any) as well as agendas, minutes, and videos from past meetings.

Executive Committee Meeting @ Glassell Park Community & Senior Center
Nov 9 @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

This meeting, the Executive Committee Meeting, held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, is the meeting at which items submitted to the board for inclusion on the agenda of the regular board meeting (held the 3rd Tuesday of each month) are considered by the executive board for inclusion on the upcoming agenda.  The agenda for the regular board meeting gets established at this meeting, so this is also the deadline to submit items for inclusion on this month’s agenda.

You can get something on the agenda in either of 2 ways: you may submit your requests to the board by emailing board@glassellparknc.org with the subject line “agenda request”, or you may attend the Executive Committee Meeting to present and explain the agenda item you have in mind.  You are also free to submit your ideas via email and then also attend the Executive Committee Meeting and weigh in as the Executive Committee discusses.

Whether or not you are trying to add something to the agenda, all stakeholders are always welcome to attend the Executive Committee Meeting for any reason, including curiosity or to weigh in on things you’ve seen on an agenda.

Town Hall – “How to: Get Stuff Done” @ Glassell Park Community & Senior Center
Dec 6 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Glassell Park Neighborhood Council has added a new monthly meeting to its calendar!

In the past, we had representatives from our city (Mayor’s office & Council Districts, Police & Fire department reps, etc) come and share with the community at our Board Meetings, in addition to taking care of GPNC Board business at these meetings.  It was a lot for one meeting!

We’ve decided to break it up into two separate meetings: now the Board meetings will start out and get right down to business with the agenda and items up for vote and action.  The community is still welcome to come and weigh in on these issues.

However, we thought it would be a great service to the community to add a monthly meeting that is more community-oriented, where we can spend more time hearing your thoughts and concerns, and bringing you more content that helps you stay involved.  At each Town Hall, you will have the opportunity to sit down with your Area Rep and talk about what concerns you as a stakeholder.  We will also serve you dinner.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Our first ever Town Hall will be on Tuesday, December 6that 7:30pm.
